Once we have received your enrolment form, we will allocate a session to you and contact you to arrange a date for your FREE TRIAL CLASS. If we cannot offer your child a place, we will add your child’s name to our waiting list. Referral Scheme Refer a friend!! For every friend that books for a full 10 week term, we will give you 5% off your term's fees AND a free workbook for the term. Note that the referred friend must not be an existing Mandarin Stars client, either registered on our database as a client (having already booked with us in previously) or have trialled with us in the past. The referred friend must be a new client that has never trialled or enrolled with Mandarin Stars before. Term Fees: Mandarin Stars: Toddler & Pre-School Class Fees Our program for 1 to 5 year olds is offered across 3 classes (and priced) as follows: * Bubs to Tots Groups for children age 1 to 2 years (45 minute sessions only) = $20/ class * Toddler Classes for children age 2 to 3 years (Choice of 1 hour or 90 minute classes) = $25/ 1 hour class or $36.30/ 90 minute class * Preschooler Classes for children age 2.5 to 5 years (Choice of 1 hour or 90 minute classes) = $25/ 1 hour class or $36.30/ 90 minute class - All terms fees are payable per term and are adjusted depending on whne you decide to commit for a full term. There is also a one off non-refundable $20+gst administration fee upon enrolment for your child’s first term.
- If you book mid term, we will adjust your fees (for example, if you attend a trial in week 3 of a 10 week term, your invoice will be for the remaining 6 weeks).
- We accept bookings mid term and will adjust your term fees accordingly.
- We also offer sibling discounts and can arrange make up classes if your child is sick/ misses a class (note that make up classes are limited and it is recommended that you book your make up class as soon as possible).
Mandarin Superstars: After School Club/ Weekend Club Fees - The fees for our 1 hour After School/ Weekend Club sessions are $25/ 1 hour class.
- The fees for our NATIVE LEARNERS classes range from $13 to $18/ hour depending on the venne that you attend. Class fees for this class at The Dougherty Centre in Chatswood and at Shiny Star in Strathfield are $18/ hour and are reduced to $13/ hour at Eastwood Public School and also at Wahroonga Preparatory School.
- Note that prices for After School Language Clubs that are held on site at schools are subsidised- please contact us at enrol@mandarinstars.com.au to find out if Mandarin Stars runs a language club at your school and what the fee is.

Places are limited and we can only fully secure your child’s place once we have received payment. Access to the Mandarin Stars Activity Centre! Upon enrolment for the term, you will be able to access the online Mandarin Stars Activity Centre. Here you will be able to access an abundance of material including: - Flashcards related to the themes taught for the term - Sound/ Voice recordings of the flashcards (This aids our non-background speaking parents so that they check their pronunciation) - Guides of useful phrases in Mandarin (with sound recordings) for parents to learn at home and at playgroup (This helps to support parents in developing their own Mandarin language skills and to foster our immersion approach in teaching our program) - Australian and Chinese nursery rhymes (with sound, translations and Pin Yin) - Traditional Chinese recipes shared by our wonderful teaching staff. The recipes that are shared with you are local to the provinces that our teachers come from - A weekly Activity Sheet for you and your child to complete together. This is not intensive homework- we use these activities to reinforce the themes for the term. - The latest developments and research updates on bilingualism - Newsbites and reviews on recently published books about bilingualism. TERMS & CONDITIONS: CANCELLATION & REFUNDS To enable our program to remain viable we need to have guidelines on refunds. This is because venue hire and the number of classes we run need to be arranged for an entire term. A request for a refund must be made in writing to Dawna Leung, Director, Mandarin Stars, PO BOX 2198, Normanhurst, NSW 2076. Please note that Mandarin Stars does not accept responsibility for participants’ non attendance of classes due to changes in personal circumtstances or commitments during the term. While we will try our best to accommodate make up classes, credit will not be issued for classes not attended. Please make your enrolment decisions carefully. If an individual class is cancelled due to instructor illness,emergency situations or a venue problem, we will encourage participants to takea make-up class. If this is not suitable for the participant, a credit or refundfor that session will be offered.
MAKE UP CLASS POLICY If your child is unable to attend a class, make up classes may be available if we have had prior warning of non attendance. Make up classes do not carry over to the next term. We cannot guarantee there will be availability in all classes for a make up class. No credits are available for missed classes FEE PAYMENTS We only take bookings for an entire term and our fees are structured this way. Unfortunately we cannot take casual bookings or pro-rata weeks you may be away. Please refer to our make up class policy for missed classes. All fees must be paid for prior to commencing the term. If you have difficulty paying the fees please discuss this with the Mandarin Stars administration as payment plans can be arranged in special circumstances. Mandarin Stars reserves the right to cancel/ recommend deferring an enrolment at anytime. A refund for any remaining classes that have already been pre-paid for will be provided in these cases. MANDARIN STARS HYGIENE HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY - All food handling and preparation requires the use of gloves and our teachers only serve food with tongs.
- Where necessary, toys are disinfected after class/ before a next session.
- All toys are spray disinfected regularly throughout the term.
- Our hired rooms are disinfected daily (as per Council requirements).
- All equipment and toys are thoroughly mass-disinfected every term (usually every 10 weeks).
- If your child is sick, please do not bring him/ her to playgroup as you not only risk infecting our teachers, but also other the other children, parents and carers.
- As a reputable educational language provider, Mandarin Stars will ensure that there is least one qualified First Aid member on site.
- As a reputable educational language provider, Mandarin Stars will only conduct classes at venues that are either run by local Council or are actually supported by Council.
Mandarin Stars- Courtesy Rules: - In our classes for under 5's or if a parent/ carer is attending a class with their child, the role of the parent is to observe, support and praise one’s child as he/ she is being engaged in the program.
- In order to ensure that the children are not distracted and overwhelmed by the level of adult noise in the classroom, all parents should be sensitive to their own personal noise level.
- Please remember to bring a quality piece of fruit to be shared with others.
- Please respect that Mandarin Stars is strictly a nut-free zone.
- Please remember to bring a water bottle to each class.
- Only one adult should accompany each enrolled child in our under 5 classes. Special circumstances are considered- please discuss this with the administration staff on 8437 2498.
- Mandarin Stars reserves the right to cancel/ recommend deferring an enrolment at anytime. In this case, a refund for any remaining classes that have already been prepaid will be provided.
